چکیده

Abstract In this contribution, a model for the thermomechanically coupled behaviour of case hardening steel is introduced with application to 16MnCr5 (1.7131). The based on decomposition free energy into thermo-elastic and plastic part. Associated viscoplasticity, in terms temperature-depenent Perzyna-type power law, combination an isotropic von Mises yield function takes respect strain-rate dependency stress. covers additional temperature-related effects, like temperature-dependent elastic moduli, coefficient thermal expansion, heat capacity, conductivity, stress cold work hardening. formulation fulfils second law thermodynamics form Clausius–Duhem inequality by exploiting Coleman–Noll procedure. parameters are fitted against experimental data. An implementation fully finite element provided representative numerical examples presented showing aspects localisation regularisation proposed model.

Thermodynamic properties of ionic fluids over wide ranges of temperature

The principle of corresponding states is valid in reasonable approximation for ionic fluids but the quantitative behavior differs considerably from that for neutral—molecule fluids. The role of a dielectric is such as to make the cT product the effective temperature. Thus aqueous electrolytes near room temperature have very high reduced temperatures on a corresponding states basis. The status o...

Thermo-mechanical analysis of magnesium alloy cylinder heads using a two-layer viscoplasticity model

Loading conditions and complex geometry have led the cylinder heads to become the most challenging parts of diesel engines. The aim of this study is to compare the distribution of temperature and stress in the aluminum and magnesium cylinder heads under thermo-mechanical loads. The three-dimensional model of the cylinder heads was simulated in abaqus software and a two-layer viscoplasticity mod...

A Liquid Density Standard Over Wide Ranges of Temperature and Pressure Based on Toluene

The density of liquid toluene has been measured over the temperature range -60 °C to 200 °C with pressures up to 35 MPa. A two-sinker hydrostatic-balance densimeter utilizing a magnetic suspension coupling provided an absolute determination of the density with low uncertainties. These data are the basis of NIST Standard Reference Material® 211d for liquid density over the temperature range -50 ...

The Ionization Constant of Water over Wide Ranges of Temperature and Density

A semitheoretical approach for the ionization constant of water, KW , is used to fit the available experimental data over wide ranges of density and temperature. Statistical thermodynamics is employed to formulate a number of contributions to the standard state chemical potential of the ionic hydration process. A sorption model is developed for calculating the inner-shell term, which accounts f...

Quantitative methanol-burning lung model for validating gas-exchange measurements over wide ranges of FIO2.

The methanol-burning lung model has been used as a technique for generating a predictable ratio of carbon dioxide production (VCO2) to oxygen consumption (VO2) or respiratory quotient (RQ). Although an accurate RQ can be generated, quantitatively predictable and adjustable VO2 and VCO2 cannot be generated. We describe a new burner device in which the combustion rate of methanol is always equal ...
